How we choose what to list
A product only appears here if it carries a published approval for the specification it is listed under. We check the approval on the manufacturer’s own licence register rather than taking the front label at face value.
Some placements are paid and are labelled Sponsored. Paid placement changes the order products appear in and nothing else: it never affects which specification we tell you your engine needs, and an oil without the right approval is never listed for it.

Our visitors arrive with a registration and leave with a specification. By the time they see a product they already know the grade and the approval code.
