Short version: the lookup is free, the data is careful but not infallible, and your service book is always the authority.
What this site is
MyEngineOil publishes engine oil specifications aggregated from manufacturer service documentation and published approval registers. It is an information service. It is not a substitute for your vehicle's handbook, and it is not professional mechanical advice.
Accuracy and liability
We take care over every figure and cite our sources, but specifications change mid-production, vehicles get modified, and documentation contains errors. Where our data and your service book disagree, follow the service book.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for loss or damage arising from reliance on the information published here. If you believe something is wrong, tell us and we will check it.
Acceptable use
You may use the lookup freely for your own vehicles. You may not scrape the site in bulk, resell the data, or use automated tooling to make registration lookups at volume — doing so risks the DVLA rate limits the free lookup depends on.
If you want the data programmatically, get in touch about licensing instead.
Product listings
Product listings are informational and prices are indicative. We do not sell anything directly; purchases are made with the retailer, under their terms.
Some listings are paid placements or earn affiliate commission. Both are labelled, and neither changes the specification we publish.

We may update these terms as the site develops. The date at the top of this page shows when they were last changed.
